New Baltic connection between Liepaja – Karlskrona – Travemünde

From 13th August Stena Line started a new freight focused connection between Germany, Sweden and Latvia by adding a port-call in Karlskrona on the existing ferry route between Travemünde and Liepaja.

So far Stena Line operated on seven routes for freight and passenger transportation in the Baltic Sea.

Mr Niclas Mårtensson, CEO Stena Line underlines that the company aims to strengthen their position as Europe’s leading ferry company and to respond to the increased market demand in the Baltic Sea.

The addition of the new route will enable more effective transport and trade opportunities between southern Scandinavia and other Baltic countries.

Erik Thulin, Trade Director at Baltic Sea North says “We see an increasing demand for sea transportation in the Baltic region. This is an expansive region where Stena Line already has a strong presence and we are pleased to expand our customer offering. Our intention is to increase the frequency and capacity even further going forward”.

The new weekly port-call in Karlskrona will initially be in the direction Liepaja-Travemünde on Thursday evenings.
